Geneva Innovation Award
On May 17, 2021, a celebratory reception was held at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks, where Chief Executive Carrie Lam acknowledged Hong Kong’s exceptional research and development talents for their internationally recognized achievements. This year’s participation by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) at the Special Edition 2021 Inventions Geneva Evaluation Days culminated in remarkable success, with HKU securing a total of eleven awards.
Among the esteemed awardees, Dr. He Yiwu, Chief Innovation Officer & Senior Advisor to the President of HKU, and Professor Chen Honglin stood out with the distinguished Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury for their groundbreaking work on a Flu-based COVID-19 Vaccine. Their achievement was introduced to Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Swiss Consul-General in Hong Kong Rolf Frei, and Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit, underscoring Hong Kong’s prominent role in global innovation.
